Does the educational system that you are affiliated with offer a shared storage area on the network for students or faculty? ------Do you find this beneficial?
I asked my teachers in IEP program, they have used shared storage areas on the network for faculty but not for students. They used “group” from Wilkes university web site, after they have taken notes in meeting, they could add information in that web site and share with all users.
What type of Email System does your educational system implement? Do you use this mail system at school? .......from home?
I know my teachers use Gmail and Wilkes group as their email system. Students do not though this system. No matter at school or home, they can use email account well.
Overall, from this chapter, the most important thing that I learned is.....
The most important thing that I learned from this chapter is acceptable use policy. It should be one of the first policies before having a network and internet connection. Using AUP in districts are aware of which is acceptable or not, it also would be taking a necessary way to respond to problems.
I wrote down the same thing for the most important part of the chapter. It is critical to make sure you have a solid AUP put in place to protect yourself and the school. If it does not define what inappropriate use is to a T then it is pretty much worthless and should definitely be look at more in depth.
